Ok, so I admit, I procrastinate. I can think of a gazillion things to share with my blog or on social media …when I’m not in front of a computer. Other times I just can’t think of anything! So I cheat…I use a formula. Here it is:

Question
Trivia
Article
Quote
Tips/Recipes
Trivia/Math
Promotion
That’s it! I use a spread sheet so when I schedule my posts, I know exactly where to go…I’m working on using the Evernote plug-in to make finding this content even easier. Do you have a formula or system? What about Evernote, have you tried it?

Your post is very interesting and so true. I run some blogging workshops and I started them because many of my clients would get carried away with the idea of having a blog. So they would get enthusiastic and set one up, tell everyone and then a month later there would still only be the first blog post on the blog. Don’t get me started on the damage that this can do. I run these courses to get people thinking about what a blog means, how often you might blog, where you get content etc.
To answer your question, I tend to keep two files, one on my computer and one card copy and then when I see something that grabs my attention I put it in the file. It may be an article, a video, a photo etc and I try to keep these as my stand by file so when I’m stuck I can go to these and pick something out. I also have writing days when I aim to write a few articles/blog posts so that I’m always ahead.
Hope this is of use.
