Having a content marketing strategy for your business is very important…but how do you know if it is successful?

The first thing you need to know is to determine the goal of your content marketing strategy. There are three major types of goals:to have in content marketing:

  1. Increase your social media reach
  2. Grow your email list
  3. Make more sales

Next, you can find out where your traffic is coming from. Check the traffic analytics from your website using a wordpress plug-in or your builderall site Once you know where the traffic is coming from you can do one of two things. You can either spend more time on sites where you are not getting any traffic OR you can spend more time on the sites where you ARE getting traffic.

Check your bounce rate. Wherever you are sending people with your content needs to be a quality site. If people just pop off your site, you have a high bounce rate and Google will not see your site as quality. That means it won’t get ranked by Google. To keep your bounce rate low, make sure your site is quality and use inter linking strategies to keep people on your site with great content even longer.

Finally, you need to know your conversion rate. If you are getting tons of traffic to your sales page and no one is buying you have a real conversion problem. If you aren’t getting people to your site then you don’t have accurate data. If you have tons of traffic and no conversions then check:

  • is  your offer clear?
  • Are the benefits clear?
  • Can people see the buy button?
