Some business owners know that they “should” have a Facebook page for their business but they don’t know why or what they should post. Here are some quick reasons why your business can have a Facebook page.
More Reach Facebook has over 1,110,000,000 users and each of them has an average of 130 friends. When just 1 person comments on your post, it can be seen by those friends.
Local Searches Facebook’s new graph search makes it easier than ever to find local businesses. The more engagement your Facebook page has, the more likely your page will be shown when someone searches. You can’t have engagement when you don’t post.
Reputation Marketing and SEO Facebook shares information with the search engines (Google and Bing) and the moe activity you have on your page, the more footprints you leave for them to find you. This is also important when you want to be in control of what someone finds when they Google your name. (Reputation Marketing)
What to post Many business owners get stuck on what they should be posting to their page. They struggle to think of original things to post, post only from their own website, or try to think of catchy status updates. You may have heard that photos get the most response from people, but recent studies have shown that more people engage with articles which show thumb nail size photos and catchy headlines.
Your posts should celebrate the nature of your business and can include things like famous quotes, re-posts from other pages, and articles of tending topics.
How often do you post on your Facebook page and what types of things do you post?

Hi Tandy,
Those are all great things to post. Are you keeping track of when you get the most engagement?
FB advertising is awesome right now! You need to know what it is that you want to accomplish. Are you looking for more likes or are you looking to make direct sales? The latter is more difficult.
I recommend targeting an audience that already likes a page similar to yours, using a great photo to capture their attention and a call to action that asks them to “click like if…”
I’ll write a post about that today.

Hi Sophie,
Thanks for commenting. Posting on a consistent bases, using compelling titles, and being involved in things like this blog challenge are all ways you can boost your blog views. Facebook and Twitter are other ways to develop an audience that would love to see some posts from your blog. Keep at it!
